Name: Emma Porter

Due date: 24 August 2016, but I am Type One Diabetic and therefore not allowed to go full term! So, unless my little womb lodger evicts before hand I will be induced at 38 weeks.

Where can we find you?: I have a blog on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and Pinterest, phew!

So, you’re 33 weeks pregnant, what have been your pregnancy essentials so far?

My top pregnancy essentials have been a pregnancy pillow, a bra extender, big knickers, Green People Body Butter, a hand-held paper fan and well fitting maternity jeans - I swear by the JoJo Maman Bebe Skinny jeans!

Has your pregnancy been everything you expected so far? Has there been anything unexpected?

I had a really tricky first trimester as I had something called Hyperemesis Gravidarum. I was being sick up to 40 times a day and had severe nausea as well which I could not get rid of. Because of this I couldn’t eat or drink anything and as a consequence lost a LOT of weight early on and was in and out of hospital on drips which was not fun! However, it went at 13 weeks which felt a little bit like winning the health lottery and, touch wood, the rest of my pregnancy has been (mostly) very positive and enjoyable.

What do you enjoy most about being pregnant?

I adore having a bump and I love feeling the baby move, it’s a feeling of connection and love that I have never experienced before. I have definitely felt at my most feminine throughout my pregnancy. I also like having boobs- for the first time in my life!

What are you most looking forward to about becoming a mum?

I just can’t wait for the little one to be here safely with my husband and I and to make its world as safe, healthy, secure and happy as I possibly can!  It’s something we have looked forward to for so long and are so excited about…it all feels a little like a dream at the moment but I cannot wait for it to be (touch wood!) reality.

We can see from your blog you cook the most AMAZING food, have you had any crazy cravings singe you became pregnant?

Thank you! I haven’t had any cravings really…Which is probably a good thing as I have had to be careful with my sugar levels. I did have a thing for lemons right at the start of pregnancy and I’ve recently being thinking about olives a little too much, but generally my diet has remained pretty healthy!
