We introduce a short checklist, which will help to provide a safe and comfortable sleep for your baby.

Check baby's room temperature with Owlet Smart Sock

The chance of SIDS is at a higher risk in babies who get to hot so it is important to make sure your baby’s room is a comfortable temperature, not to hot or too cold. A temperature of 16-20‘c with light bedding or a well-fitting lightweight baby sleep bag is safe and comfortable for sleeping babies.

As it can be hard to judge the temperature in a room, we advise to use a room thermometer in the room baby sleeps in to ensure each room is at the safest temperature for baby. We recommend using the owlet smart sock/monitor as it provides many useful/helpful features, some which are, taking the room temperature and humidity, receiving sound, motion and crying notification through to your mobile (these can be adjusted to your preference), two-way audio, night vision and a 130’ camera lens.

Safe and snuggly sleep in Love to Dream Swaddle

If you are using a baby sleeping bag do not add extra blankets or sheets on top, add an extra layer of clothing or choose a higher tog if you feel that the sleep bag is not thick enough to ensure your baby is at the right temperature. Sleeping bags should be well fitted so the baby cannot wriggle down.

We highly recommend investing in the love to dream swaddle ups, they come in many different sizes to match the age and weight of your baby, the swaddle up warm is advised to use for cold temperatures. In all the swaddles the arms are in an upright position which helps prevent baby rolling which reduces the risk of SIDS.
